From the mid-60s up to 1981, swing-wing aircraft led the way for new multirole aircraft that combined the low-speed stability and efficiency of a straight wing with the high-speed performance of a swept wing and led to some of the most famous fighters and bombers of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. But from 1981 onwards not a single new aircraft was built with a swing-wing design. In this video, we look at why this happened.

Reigniting Atlas’ legacy of launching humans to space, ULA is using an Atlas V rocket to launch the Crew Flight Test (CFT). Check out how the Atlas V rocket was stacked ahead of launch.
Orbital rings are a powerful alternative to space elevators for getting into space, but are often thought to be limited to a circle around the equator.

There are billion of binary star systems in our galaxy, including many of those stars closest to us. Can such systems host life, and what would it be like to live under two suns?
The Energia Vulkan design was the largest of the Energia concepts with eight Zenit booster rockets and an Energia-M core as the upper stage, the Vulkan (which shared the name with another Soviet heavy lift rocket that was cancelled years earlier) configuration was initially projected to launch up to 200 metric tonnes into 200 km orbit with inclination 50.7°
The development of the Vulkan and the refurbishment of Universal Test Stand and Launch Pad at site 250 for its launches was in progress between 1990–1993 and abandoned soon after due to a lack of funds and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
