Whilst the internet has become integral to most people’s lives it was only in 2010 that the International Space Station could use apps like Twitter because the connection speed was so slow. In fact, communication with spacecraft out past mars becomes very slow and problematic.
However, in the future, high-speed internet connections will be available out into the solar system that will not only give coverage of what’s available here out there but also dramatically speed up the currently very slow communications to space missions both manned and unmanned. In this video, we look at how this will happen.
